I wrote this orchestral work based on my organ improvisation, which I performed at the funeral of Esther Philippsen, my mother, on July 12, 2015 in the Annweiler town church. The melody is a symbol of the gradual overcoming of the fear of life that she had suffered from throughout her life. Shortly before the final operation, she said: "I am no longer afraid either..."
